OUR SERVICES
WICE has a competent team of medical practitioners and staff and their mission is to provide you with personalized, high-quality care. We provide the best of Imaging services in the Region, with personalized and compassionate care.
General Ultrasound (Ultrasonography)
Also known as sonography, ultrasound imaging involves sound waves to look for potential anomalies inside the body. The prepping involves application of a specially formulated gel directly on the target area. At WICE, the radiologist will apply a specially formulated gel on to the target area and gently caress it by using a specially designed probe which sends high frequency sound waves right into your body. The probe receives the bouncing sound waves back and a live image is formed on the screen for the radiologist to assess. You’ll receive a computerized report shortly after the exam. An ultrasound is generally done on the abdominal and pelvic regions but is not limited to it and can also be performed to observe other internal organs such as heart, thyroid, eyes, etc.
Radiography (X-RAY)
Got a fractured bone but don’t know what type of fracture is it? We at WICE Diagnostics are here to let you know! X-RAY is the oldest and most commonly used medical imaging technique that uses either x-rays, gamma rays or ionizing\non-ionizing radiation. The beam generator throws a stream of x-rays on the target area which seeps through the area according to its mass and density and forms an image on a special plate. One cannot feel an x-ray as it’s just a beam of invisible waves. X-rays are the best way to diagnose a fractured bone, torn tissues or muscular lumps. They even locate a foreign object that might have entered your body. At WICE, a regular x-ray is carried out without any special prepping and very little or no precautions.
DEXA Scan (Bone Density Scan)
A DEXA scan is as simple as having an x-ray as it also doesn’t involve being injected or going through a tunnel. This scan is generally conducted to check bone density and any signs of weak bones (osteoporosis). The scan will be carried out by our trained radiographer and all you’ll have to do is lying down flat on the table and be very still in order to avoid blurred images. Just like an x-ray, a scanning probe will be passed over the target area (mostly in the middle pars of your skeleton) to measure the bone density by passing a narrow beam of drenched radiation. More than one parts of your body might be examined as bone density differs everywhere. The scan usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. Your results will be compared to a young healthy adult and the expected value according to your age, ethnicity and gender. The compiled results of the screening will be handed over to you for further measures.
Digital Radiography:
As compared to conventional x-ray imaging, Digital Radiography has plenty of more advantages among which the reduction of time is foremost. It involves digitally upgraded machinery that uses a digital detector panel. This shifting of technology from analog to digital makes a great difference to modern ways of Digital Imaging. WICE proffers a reduced radiation Digital Radiography which is comparatively lower in cost due to the exclusion of chemical processors, filing and mailing jackets, therefore also saving the cost of processor maintenance. The main merit of the Digital Radio Imaging is that it can rapidly shift from dark-to light imaging which makes the hard-to-see soft tissues and fractures even more visible.
Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
Computed Tomography or CT scan somewhat resembles an x-ray procedurally but is more like a 4-dimensional x-ray. It requires a machine far more sophisticated than a regular x-ray machine and at WICE Diagnostics, we offer a flawless CT. A CT scan captures images from different angles of the target area such as bones, tendons or tissues, then uses a computerized software to generate cross-sectional diagram of it. In this way, the CT scan delivers a lot more visually comprehensive results than plain x-rays do and is best to detect internal bleeding in emergency situations. It is a non-invasive, quick and painless procedure.
Multi-slice CT
The Multi-slice Imagery is also a CT scan, but modified. It is a unique system furnished with a row of multiple detector arrays (thus the name). These arrays concurrently gather up the data from different slice locations and display the cross-sectional image of them by using rays. This detailed scan enables a radiologist to identify hardly seen tumours and study blood vessels deeply. Only a bunch of imaging centers offer the Multi-Slice Topography and WICE is definitely one of them.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
As the name suggests, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses a strong magnet and provides detailed images of the internal anatomy of the body such as tumours, diseases of liver, heart and bowel and an unborn baby. An MRI scan visualizes most of the details that are left unexposed by the x-rays, CT scans or ultrasounds and therefore, could be considered as the most accurate of all the scans. A patient having an MRI might feel claustrophobic; The constantly empathizing staff and state-of-the-art machinery at WICE Diagnostics provides pellucid results and comfortable lodging for claustrophobic patients. Understanding the procedure might be confusing as it involves a lot of Physics, in simplest words, the patient is laid down on an automated bed and sent into a large circular magnet which creates a strong magnetic field and radio waves. The computer then creates the image for the doctor to analyze and diagnose.
3T MRI
Also known as 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging and 3 Tesla MRI, 3T Magnetic Resonance Imagery is no different than a regular MRI technically, but if seen by the intensity point of you, it wins! The 3T MRI is stronger leading to better signal to noise ratio and thus clearer and better images which allow easier diagnosis of disease pathology. All WICE MRI imaging is performed in our state of the art new 3T MRI machine.
